    Catnapp

Forget about M.I.A., Catnapp is the new deal! The young MC and producer from Buenos Aires makes your speakers boom!

After having played with Chromeo, South Rakas Crew and at festivals all around Latin America, including adidas showcases, and getting rave reviews in magazines and blogs alike, Catnapp now Makes Your Speakers Boom in Europe. Mixing an hip hop esthetic with harsh beats, lots of energy on stage plus lots of swagger, Catnapp proves to be one of the female electronic bass producers/MC´s out of Latin America to watch. Since starting her project as Catnapp 4 years ago, she has created her very own style mixing it with a particular image language in grafic and video and a hint of the megametropolis Buenos Aires where she is hailing from.

What started as a drum and bass project with influences from breakbeat and jungle, then transformed into a darker, beat-oriented sound. With 6 releases under her belt as for Caballito Netlabel, Black Inc. and IF THE KIDS, Catnapp keeps steadily moving between sounds and styles, not to be boxed in, as she wants to continue mutating and transforming, just as people and their emotions do.

    KungFused

KungFused is DJ Magma´s new project to open up more space for experimentation. As a core member of Spains Drum´n´Bass scene, she´s been touring through clubs in Spain, Italy, Belgium and the Czech Republic, constantly increasing her European fan base. As a producer she takes her roots a step further and dives into glitch hop, downtempo beat making a la Tokimonsta, and chopped up beats based on heavy sampling and always with an ironic touch.

    Urban Exploration

Urban Exploration is an audio/visual collective from Leeds, UK. The group currently consists of six artists who come together to collaborate on various projects, including running experimental music events, creating short films and video for VJing, making field recordings in abandoned buildings, performing improvised synthesizer music and producing banging techno and electro tracks.

The group place great importance on improvising as much of their music as possible, and regularly meet up to jam on their large collection of home-made modular synthesizers, keyboards, drum machines, tape echo units, stompboxes, and synchronised laptops. Every track starts off life as a live jam, with little processing used to turn them into finished pieces of music, giving Urban Exploration's tunes a dense, lo-fi quality, with many unexpected twists and turns.

Influenced as much by dub, ambient and noise artists as they are dance music, Urban Exploration's musical output often focuses on the creation of intense soundscapes, that then evolves to include heavy techno or industrial beats as the music progresses. Their live shows are often completely improvised with no-one really knowing where they will be taken next. The addition of live VJing and audience interaction make their live shows and events unique experiences. They always aim to balance their experimental sound design and working methods with accessible melody and vigorous dancefloor workouts.

    Dolomites

The Dolomites have been an ongoing project since 1998 that have belted out an amalgamation of styles extracted from around the globe: Europe, Japan, America and South America. Founded by Stevhen Koji Iancu aka Stefanko Selecta (American resident as British National of Japanese and Romanian decent) in 1998, the Dolomites had their beginnings in an art punk house in Portland, Oregon.

Their first album "A Hogshead of Whiskey" was released in the year 2000 on Walking Records. Originally consisting mainly of drinking songs from the UK in Pogues styles with Tom Waitsian accent, they later incorporated Gipsy, Jazz and evil Disney sounds on the "Medicine Show E.P.", released in 2002. Dolomite´s second album "Darumanian Chophouse" (2005), recorded and produced in Brooklyn, NYC, brought out more Gipsy elements scrambled together with Japanese Enka and pop style melodies. After the release Stevhen Koji also started working with diverse musical projects, such as Gogol Bordello, Yerba Buena, Romashka or Mad Juana. Several releases in Japan followed and the Dolomites sound steadily morphed into something nomadicly fresh, as of today bringing crunked out beats and bass to the Gipsy melodies, fusing 8Bit, chiptunes, glitch hop and wonky beats to an unmistakeable Dolomites "8Bit Balkan" sound.
