This one is straight fire. 'London based music geek & bass freak' Purge laid down an amazingly bouncing upbeat mix with all sorts of Tropical and UK Funky flavours in it. Truly an inspiration! He made me dance in my home studio, oh well. And I went all Juke and Funky this time, bringing you some fresh and older classics, plus the occasional global beats from far away places.
Purge starts from 1:05 on, me before.

This is nothing from the headquarters of ITK, but it´s a lovely treat of music from a producer you should all be a fan of, because he´s the real deal - Fine Cut Bodies from Budapest. He´s giving away his amazing remix of "Fever Ray - Keep The Streets Empty For Me" until this Sunday, so grab it while you can.
Yes it´s time again, ITK is back with a full show with moderation by Mohak and everything! She is back from her extensive trip to Argentina and Uruguay, has her mic back and hence the show gets some info transmitted next to bouncy music. Lots of new dubs and glitch tunes, some older dancehall classics plus a guest mix from Berlin´s Neokortex! This one will definitely get you started for the week-end, if you are planning on heading to Sub:Stance at Berghain afterwards.

Congolese Wrestler wearing ITK! Only to be found there.
The 6-person-collective has been making waves in the UK since they presented an astonishing audio-visual interactive show at Bridgnorth Festival. They have been working hard on their first release "Subterranean", which comes out tomorrow February 28th on ITK. Further down I posted their artist bio already, so have a look at the wide range of things this multimedia collective is doing, apart from releasing extremely well produced analog sounds ranging from Detroit Techno to Berghain big room bangers. Don´t sleep on this one!
The cover foto was taken by fellow photographer Martyn (MJS), who is specialized on urban exploration pic´s in abandoned warehouses, forgotten hospitals, train stations and the like. It´s well worth checking his flickr account for more arty pictures of this sort!

We are delighted to announce our new addition to the label, analog experimental techno team Urban Exploration from Leeds! Their 4-track EP "Subterranean" is coming out the 28th of February with two haunting athmospheric downtempo tracks and two bangers straightly designed for Berghain. Yes, that´s how we roll! Keep your eyes peeled for this very special 6-person audio-visual collective! Someone had to raise the bars at some point.
The video below is from a performance at the Bridgnorth Festvial in 2011.
Urban Exploration is an audio/visual collective from Leeds, UK. The group currently consists of six artists who come together to collaborate on various projects, including running experimental music events, creating short films and video for VJing, making field recordings in abandoned buildings, performing improvised synthesizer music and producing banging techno and electro tracks.
The group place great importance on improvising as much of their music as possible, and regularly meet up to jam on their large collection of home-made modular synthesizers, keyboards, drum machines, tape echo units, stompboxes, and synchronised laptops. Every track starts off life as a live jam, with little processing used to turn them into finished pieces of music, giving Urban Exploration's tunes a dense, lo-fi quality, with many unexpected twists and turns.
Influenced as much by dub, ambient and noise artists as they are dance music, Urban Exploration's musical output often focuses on the creation of intense soundscapes, that then evolves to include heavy techno or industrial beats as the music progresses. Their live shows are often completely improvised with no-one really knowing where they will be taken next. The addition of live VJing and audience interaction make their live shows and events unique experiences. They always aim to balance their experimental sound design and working methods with accessible melody and vigorous dancefloor workouts.
Our man Neokortex, who did a remix of KungFused´s "Toxic People", just put a very glitchy, very vinyl, very special mix together. Not to be missed!
And label owner Mohak got into a warehouse feeling and did a bouncy techno mix. Party!
Yes, we were waiting for the moment to come, I hope you are as excited as we are, because KungFused´s first solo EP "Something Special 4 U" is finally available! Get it first at our bandcamp page, but if you are more familiar with Juno, Amazon, iTunes or the like then wait a little more and do your shopping from the 6th of February on.
